House On The Beach
In a house on the beach
in the dark in the Spring
there's a wall with a window
and the rest of her things
I can walk in a circle
feel the weight of the night
I can look to the island
Revolving in light
Counting one two three
I'm seeing the numbers
like ghosts
in front of me
With the air humming
warm electricity
But it won't comfort me
For once in a lifetime
I've made my own bed
In a house on the beach
in the light instead
I can walk in her circle
feel the weight of the night
I can look to the island
Revolving in light
Counting one two three
I'm seeing the numbers
like ghosts
in front of me
With the air humming
Counting one two three
I'm seeing the numbers
like ghosts
in front of me
With the air humming
warm electricity
But it won't comfort me

Cone - November Ghosts

November Ghosts
Cancel all appointments
The stars are hanging low
It's darker than Dakota
And there's nowhere else to go
The sheets are drying in the night
the wind makes perfect ghosts
I open all the pink champagne
As if the perfect host
And out across the amber lawn
Headlights on the grilles
Arrival times were never set
They wander in at will
And in their sheets
they wrap their arms
around the cold
November charm
Andromeda and pink champagne
some things are always best the same
I invite them all by name
Hope they come
(Glad they came)
Cancer, Sagittarius
Virgo trust in space
Absent are the arrows
That line the darkest space
The wind is sighing in the trees
Above the quieted crowd
All calm and cool collected
Beneath their cotton shroud
I've come across their kind before
Invisible machines
That linger in periphery
Like nothing of a dream
And in their sheets
they wrap their arms
around the cold
November charm
Andromeda and pink champagne
some things are always best the same
I invite them all by name
Hope they come
(Glad they came)

Cone - Send All Sound

Send All Sound
Send all sound to sleep
Where midnight and ocean meet
Send all sound
Quiet what was once aloud
Letters in trenches
Luminous submarines
Light up the library
of everything you said to me
Bound in a coral tapestry
Myth and oath, grown together
Mines that break their surface tether
What was that you meant again
When you said 'forever'?
Down below each wave
A sunken spoken castle
Took so long to build
And to decay so longer still
Soldiers in trenches
Marshal the guards
They wave to the general
Who sends his regards
(Oh) he said it'd be harder than hard
Myth and oath, he was right
Mine by day, yours by night
Do you remember all that time ago
When last it was alright?
Send all sound to sleep
Where archipelagos divide
Send all sound
Quiet to the tide
Quiet to the tide
(It's quiet on the other side)
